Who is Sadik Hadzovic?

It comes as quite a shock that Sadik Hadzovic is actually an American bodybuilder.

Sadik Hadzovic and his family originally moved from Bosnia & Herzegovina (former Yugoslavia) post the war. And it suffices to say, he has made the most of the States so far. Since he has moved to the states, he’s earned the title of becoming a men’s physique champion four times.  He also has the victory of 4 IFBB events under his belt, which includes the one at the Arnold festival in the year 2015.

Sadik Hadzovic is quite popular for all of his appearances in the men’s physique category, especially at Mr. Olympia, where he was placed at the second position on more than one occasions, coincidentally losing out to his biggest competitor- Jeremy Buendia at both times. Men’s physique is the category for guys who flaunt the aesthetic look – something like in the Jeff Seid style. It is a coveted category and to be in the second position is also a huge honor. Sadik Hadzovic is still one of the most widely known bodybuilders out there. These guys are known to be muscular and display a v-taper as well as a tiny waist. Although they have never made the image of elite bodybuilders, they’re way above mere mortals, hence putting them in a class of their own.

Who is Jeremy Buendia?

Jeremy Buendia is popular as Mr. Olympia Men’s Physique champion and has won the title 3 times. He has been coached by Hany Rambod, who is also the trainer of Phil Heath. Buendia has proved his mettle in the men’s physique category just like Phil has in the bodybuilding category, surpassing strong competition such as Sadik Hadzovic and Jeff Seid to win his titles.

He does not only have some of the best arms in the business but also has insane vascularity and boasts of a waist which is virtually nonexistent when seen from a side view.

Jeremy Buendia works extremely hard, and when it comes to competition, you can safely bet that he is sure to be the most shredded guy on stage. It is said, that Buendia practically came out of the womb curling dumbbells, and has been majorly inspired from his father who used to be a non-competitive bodybuilder back in the 70’s, hence proving to be quite an inspiring influence on Jeremy’s passion for weights. He began competing at a tender age of 17 while winning his first bodybuilding competition back in the year 2012 with the NPC Excalibur championships.

In most of his pictures, he appears to have made 90% of all of his muscle gains as a teen itself, but it looks like he did have roughly about 5% or so extra body fat. It is a sign of a typical natural bodybuilder if he makes all of his gains when he first starts lifting weights. When you look at his head or his face, it has not changed in size or even in structure, and he continues to have extremely great skin. While this may sound silly, but having nice-looking skin is quite hard to achieve when they take steroids. This happens due to the sebaceous glands which produce a lot more oil than usual and ends up blocking up pores. The exception to this is HGH, and it can end up making you look a lot younger especially at the expense of ‘looking completely pregnant’ when you administer it with insulin.

Jeremy Buendia does not show any obvious side effects, and his ‘gains timeline’ (the rate at which he’s gained muscle) is extremely believable. All you would need is only to look at the picture of the 17-year-old Jeremy Buendia to understand that he’s extremely gifted in the genetics department. When it comes to cutting steroids, it is always difficult to detect what someone has been taking, because they don’t always show obvious side effects that bulking steroids do. However, given his gains and his overall timeline, it is safe to assume that he is natty.

The biggest giveaway for somebody who is cutting steroids would always be of extreme dryness (when associated with anavar and winstrol use). Jeremy Buendia is quite adept at manipulating his water levels which is under the guidance of Hany Rambod, but he’s not insanely dry to the point where he looks like he’s been photoshopped. All in all, the evidence points to natural gains and should be enough to shut up any critics who claim otherwise. Hard work should be appreciated not questioned.

It is extremely disheartening to see somebody put in so much hard-work and still face so much backlash for not being natural when they evidently put their mind and soul into it. In the bodybuilding world, there are many names that draw excitement but very few who have a nickname like “The Gift.” Phil Heath is the current six-time Mr. Olympia champion, having won the first title back in 2011, he has been on a winning streak that could see him go down as the most successful bodybuilders of all time if it continues.

There is little doubt that any bodybuilder who competes in the Mr. Olympia competition is probably massive, but Phillip Heath appears to be in a league of his own. His muscles are so incredibly round and full that they pop, creating a 3D effect that is a sight to behold. Phil’s dominant muscle groups are his delts, and it shows, to be fair though, there’s not a single part of Phil that isn’t muscular and large.

How did Phil Heath get to be 6x Mr. Olympia champion?

Philip Heath started out playing basketball at the University of Denver before he took on bodybuilding as his profession in the early 2000’s. He has won many awards and prizes since he started, but he came into the limelight and became prominent after almost immediately and easily winning the overall title of National Physique Committee (NPC); USA Championships in 2005. Since then, he has been competing as an IFBB Pro. After he won his first two professional events, he earned the nickname “The Gift, The Next Best Thing” or “The Gift” for short. By 2008, Phil Heath had garnered a massive following and was proving to be extremely popular with the masses. Even though he opted out of Mr. Olympia that year to take the time to prepare and improve further so, he could take part later, and since 2011 to present day, the title has been his.

It’s easy to see his dedication and amazing genes coupled with a work out regime as being the reasons behind his impressive track record, but it could potentially also be those things going hand in hand with steroid use.

Training and Nutrition

Phil Heath consumes around 5000 calories per day, consisting of 400 grams of protein and 600 grams of carbohydrates. Before any major contests, he cuts down on calories, and eats a lot of protein, along with supplements to help him bulk up. Usually, he eats around 7 meals a day. All these calories are offset by an intense workout routine.

Phil trains heavily with weights to build muscle, so his routine consists of the following.

  • Day 1 – Leg workouts with exercises like leg curls, leg presses and calf raises,.
  • Day 2 – Chest and Tricep workouts with exercises like dumbbell incline presses and flys, bench presses and tricep pushdowns.
  • Day 3 – Rest
  • Day 4 – Back and bicep workouts with exercises like pull-ups, pulldowns, rows, and curls.
  • Day 5 – Shoulder and traps workouts with exercises like military presses, upright rows and a variety of shrugs.
  • Day 6 – Cardio exercises to maintain the cardiovascular system.
  • Day 7 – Rest.

This comprehensive exercise routine helps Phil Heath maintain his body. He performs a large number of reps to optimize his performance and create his shredded physique.

Steroid use

This negativity stems from a couple of things, one, his appearance on a documentary film called “Generation Iron” gave many people the perception that Phil is arrogant/big headed. Phil Heath more or less admitted to taking steroids on video, he didn’t think or know he was being filmed, and his team intervened before he could say anything damning, but the implications are irrefutable. The video is on YouTube, for those who want to hear the admission for themselves.

In the video, a Youtuber called “Prophet Muscle” confronts Phil Heath and asks him repeatedly why he takes steroids. After some pushback, Phil is heard responding “because…,” before he is stopped by his bodyguard and warned not to speak any further on the subject.

More Proof

If you’ve followed his career, it’s easy to tell he’s a natural bodybuilder in this picture because, at the time of this photograph, he weighed around 192 lbs., which means going by his current stats, he has gained roughly 50 lbs. of lean mass since that time.

It has been a long time since 2003 and one might argue that he has simply worked hard and with a dedication to bringing himself to this point, but it has to be noted that that kind of lean mass growth tends to happen on steroid use.

If Phil had already been taking steroids at the time of this picture, there would be little growth in his lean mass simply because a person taking steroids will experience most of their physical gains in the first few cycles of use. And judging by how big he has grown since this picture was taking, it seems fairly obvious that he was a natural bodybuilder at the time of this picture, and steroid use came later.

This picture is proof of one more thing. Phil Heath has amazing genes; those genes are what have obviously earned him his many titles and success in bodybuilding. Which means even if one were to take steroids, without amazing genes like that, it would be near impossible to look like Phil Heath. He was a big guy well before he started juicing.

So what steroids is Phil Heath  taking?

Without concrete and definitive proof, it’s hard to tell what kind of steroids Phil Heath takes, but we can make educated guesses. It is most likely a combination of the following:

It seems as though there is a strong chance that Phil Heath has used trenbolone. Trenbolone will help build muscle everywhere, but more specifically in muscles that contain a higher number of androgen receptors, these are usually the shoulder and traps muscles, both of which are very prominent muscle groups on Phil.

Human Growth Hormone and Insulin

Phil possesses something known as “Steroid gut,” which is a prominent sign of human growth hormone use combined with insulin. Why would a bodybuilder use a combination that gives him a gut? Well, insulin is highly anabolic which means nutrients get shifted into the muscle cell to help the growth of musculature.

Anadrol

Anadrol is one of the most potent steroids available. Using Anadrol all but guarantees a huge increase in both strength and size. Phil is a likely candidate for having used Anadrol because if you’ve seen him offseason, he looks bloated and almost fat even though he doesn’t have much body fat.

This side effect is a result of Anadrol; it can cause A LOT of water retention which contributes to the bloated look that Phil has during the offseason.

Anavar

Finally, Anavar, cutting steroids. When its season and bodybuilders around the world start to gather to compete, Phil is always noticeably well cut and defined. While Phil’s water and sodium intake is carefully monitored to ensure he flushes out excess water to appear as defined as possible. Anavar is the more likely of two options as it keeps the muscles looking full while cutting to maximize appearance.

For all those who follow the bodybuilding world, Simeon Panda is quite popular. For all those who don’t know him, well he is one of the most popular English bodybuilders from London, who boasts of one of the most aesthetic physiques in the world. Simeon’s rise to fame is largely attributed to his huge upper body mass, combined with an incredibly tiny waist. Oh, and the fact he claims to have achieved this feat completely naturally.

It is a lesser known fact that his muscles have earned him a Musclemania PRO card, which gets him in the same league alongside the likes of Ulysses and Chul Soon. Commercially, this has been of advantage to him because he has also managed to land a sponsorship with supplement giant – MyProtein. As a result of claiming completely natural means, he’s actually gained over 4.7 million fans on his Facebook page ( which is higher than Phil Heath, Kai Greene, and Sadik Hadzovic). On the other hand,  Simeon’s received quite a bit of backlash online; accompanied by people calling him a liar as well as a disgrace to the industry.
These negative comments are a problem because some people actually believe that he is on steroids and all of these accusations are based purely because of the size that he so proudly boasts of. Let’s look at this objectively:

Here are Simeon Panda’s stats (1, 2):

These are huge measurements for somebody who has achieved all this naturally and many people who look at Simeon may quickly just feel that he’s on steroids. Here we are analyzing whether there’s actually any substance behind these steroid accusations, or is Simeon really telling the truth?

Evidence That Simeon Panda IS on Steroids 

There are plenty of experts that are of the opinion that Simeon Panda is on steroids.

They back this up with the fact that he weighs the same as Arnold Schwarzenegger used to weigh in his prime and the governor has admitted to taking steroids. But the issue here is that these experts do not know that Simeon and Arnold are actually not of the same size and there is no proof of the fact that they have the same stats.

Unfortunately, stats are often inflated; and most of the times they’re completely incorrect. When further research is done, it is found that in reality, Simeon Panda actually does not have the level of muscularity which Arnold boasted of had when he won Mr. Olympia Simeon would further need to enhance his physique with a good 40lbs of lean muscle to come in the same category as the Austrian Oak.

Although this does not serve as conclusive proof, it is actually the lengths he’s going, which are indicative of somebody who isn’t guilty.

He did not need to go through the hassle of testing himself or even come out addressing this particular topic on video.

If anybody was actually on steroids and still claiming to be natural, then they definitely wouldn’t put themselves in such stressful situations. They would not go to the extent of lying on video and continue to pretend to be natural when they are not; especially when nobody is forcing them to do it. Instead, these people would lay low and stay extremely quiet about it. On the other hand, if they were complete naturals and people kept on saying that they weren’t; they would in all probability go and take a load of drug tests which would prove that they are not exactly afraid to come face to face with these accusations on video. It is extremely nice to see what Simeon Panda has done. It does not only prove that he is a completely natural but also shows how hard Simeon Panda has worked to reach the position he is at today.

Helmut Strebl has modeled and competed for nearly 20 years, winning the World Miami Pro and European Champion titles 5 times in 6 years. As of 2017, he weighs somewhere between 205-215 lbs and is 6ft 3.

Helmut Strebl started his training at the early age of 12, training to protect himself from school bullies. His friend was not picked on since he was significantly larger than Helmut. So Helmut decided to train and exercise until he could equal his schoolmate. However, when he started weight training, Helmut Strebl quickly realized it did not have to be limited to self-defense.

He went on and trained to equal his friend in strength and size, and this incident led him to the path of becoming a fitness model.

Training

Helmut Strebl has incredible instincts about his body, and what kind of training he needs to do. He targets muscle groups based on instinct every day, but meticulously plans out all other aspects of his workout regimen. Helmut Strebl has developed a regimen to give him optimal results after years of trial and error. While the exercises vary from day to day, his usual workout routine is as follows –

Helmut Strebl is extremely careful about what he eats and how he eats. In an interview, he explained his diet. Unlike his workouts, which are based more on instinct, his diet is far more planned out. He has lean protein in every single meal and enjoys carbohydrates like sweet potatoes and brown rice when they are in season.

All the elements in his meals work together to provide him with all the protein, carbohydrates and fats required to keep that shredded look.

But how does he maintain that ultra-low level of body fat? Well, he uses a method called carb cycling to reduce his body fat levels.

Carbs have two functions in the human body. They fuel workouts and create an anabolic environment within, that helps fuel muscle growth. Their second function is spiking insulin levels, which makes fat cells store glucose. Now, the problem is that carbs are required for muscle growth, but they increase fat.

The solution to this problem is carb cycling, ie, having high-carb days and low-carb days over a period of time. The high carb days refill glycogen reserves and preserve muscle tissue, while the low carb days burn fat. This is the method Helmut Strebl uses to build muscle and burn fat at the same time. It is a combination of a number of factors that allows him to achieve incredibly low body fat percentages.

Who is Chul Soon?

One of the heroes of modern day bodybuilding competitions is Hwang Chulseon, better known as Chul Soon. Known worldwide as “Asian Arnold” or the “Korean Hulk”, this bodybuilder has developed quite a reputation along with his physique. But with a good reputation comes jealousy, and so plenty of people have started questioning if his muscles are the result of hard work or steroids. In this article, we will attempt to prove if Chul Soon is a natty or a juicer, one way or another. Chul Soon is just as Bolo Yeung a famous Asian superstar.

Bio

Chul Soon is a 34-year-old Korean bodybuilder, who has also worked as a celebrity personal trainer and a fitness model. He was also the Overall Champion at the Musclemania Universe Competition in 2015 and 2016, ending years of work with one of the highest prizes one can win.

Currently, his weight is between 215 – 225 lbs (93.0 – 102.1kg), and he is 5’10” tall.

Chul Soon mentioned in an interview, that he was a fairly scrawny person. He said that when he was 20 years old, he was very thin, and weighed less than 125 lbs. In order to be taken seriously by the people around him, he decided to start lifting weights and bulking up. His early training methods were very rigorous, but not very effective. At one point, he was doing 3000 crunches every day.

When this method did not help him achieve the physique he wanted, he decided to figure out a better approach. He focused completely on building muscle by creating a structured workout program and improving his diet. Over the course of three years, his physique changed drastically. Where once he described himself as scrawny, he now described himself as shredded.

During this time, he maintained his weightlifting activities, which led to him getting a job as a personal trainer in a gym in Seoul, South Korea. From here, his career went from strength to strength. In 2009, he made his debut in the world of professional bodybuilding competitions and won a respectable 2nd Place in the light-weight category at the 2009 Musclemania World Championships.

Training and Exercise Routines

Chul Soon’s training and exercise routines have undergone many changes over the years. As mentioned above, he used to do thousands of crunches every day. Even now, training his abs is the highest priority.

However, as a natural bodybuilder, symmetry is of the highest importance. To that end, Chul Soon uses a simple yet dynamic workout style that only focuses on certain muscle groups at a time.

His routines use compound movements that exercise multiple muscle groups. He uses bench presses, squats, deadlifts and pull-ups. These exercises allow him to maintain symmetry as well as bulk up.

Chul Soon has a strong fascination with the Golden Age of bodybuilding, namely the 60’s and the 70’s. His training regimen evolved naturally over the course of years. He paid close attention to how his body reacted to new exercises, and this allowed him to figure out which exercises worked best for his physique. He has since applied this knowledge to his training regimens, allowing many people to benefit from his hard work.

Nutrition

Chul Soon follows a fairly set diet, one that is high in protein, with moderate amounts of carbs as well as a moderate amount of fat. This kind of diet is perfect for bodybuilders, giving their bodies the nutrients it needs to fuel muscle growth in combination with exercise.

Physique

Chul Soon has an incredible physique, and clearly, the judges at Musclemania agree. He has a physique resembling that of the Golden Age greats like Arnold Schwarzenegger or Dave Draper.

However, since he has access to newer methods of bodybuilding, he has mixed and matched systems and created a perfect fusion of past and future.

His muscle bellies are so full, they seem to pop out of his body, creating an impressive figure. His delts are massive, and his shoulders look like wrecking balls. This, along with his incredible abs, makes him a force to be reckoned with on stage. They also clearly show his dedication and hard work in the gym, while his V Taper is on par with the masters.

His greatest asset, however, is his symmetry, which most “mass monsters” do not have. Given all of this information about his diet, exercise routines, and hard work, it makes sense to assume that he is a natural bodybuilder, as he claims to be.

But we must ask the question, are his gains natural?

Nobody is arguing with the fact that he works incredibly hard for his body. But his gains seem to have come too fast to be natural.

Timeline

When Chul Soon came onto the scene in 2008, he was clearly an experienced weightlifter, and thus, in great shape. Photos taken over the next three years show that his physique remained about the same, with minor improvements in conditioning.

But come 2014, and all of a sudden, he puts on a massive amount of weight.

There are no accurate measurements available, but it looks like he gained over 40 pounds of lean mass.

A pattern has been observed in weightlifters. When they start out, they gain mass very quickly. These newbie gains last a short while, after which muscle growth hits a plateau. This is what seems to have happened to Chul Soon. When he started out, he was already an experienced weightlifter. Between 2008 and 2013, it looks like he plateaued, but then he exploded. These kinds of gains are rare for a natural bodybuilder. While it is perfectly possible that he is one of those people who has won the genetic lottery, the kind of gains he has achieved are those that are usually accomplished by juicing.

However, one of the major factors that point to him not juicing is his lack of a huge belly. As mentioned before, he has excellent abs. One side effect of steroid usage is a huge gut, something he notably lacks.

Also, Musclemania has regular drug tests for competitors. Each time, Chul Soon emerged completely drug-free. The tests taken during, before and after Musclemania are extremely comprehensive, and the chances of him beating them are slim to none. It is quite likely that he is, as a matter of fact, a completely natural bodybuilder.
