Even though you may be tempted to do it, squeezing blackheads isn’t going to help in the long term, instead you need to focus on cleaning out the pores which are clogged up and causing the problem. Here are some ideas on natural blackhead removal treatments.

 

Spiced milk scrub

Mix some milk and ground nutmeg together until it is like a paste, wash your face as normal and rinse gently with warm water before gently applying the scrub in circle like movements, focusing on areas with blackheads. Continue for a few minutes before rinsing the face well with warm water. This works because the lactic acid in milk exfoliates old skin cells aided by the slightly rough texture of the nutmeg.

 

Sticky honey rub

Cleanse and dry your face as usual before using this natural method. All you need is some sticky honey in a dish – use the runny type. Take some of the honey with your (clean) fingers and apply it to the area with blackheads in fast and repetitive dabbing or patting movements. The stickiness of the honey should capture the dirt in your pores while also using its healing properties to reduce the inflammation that could follow. After a couple of moments rinse the honey off with a gentle soap and warm water.

Turmeric-clay face mask

Mix two tablespoons of natural yogurt, half a teaspoon of bentonite clay and one teaspoon of turmeric in a dish then gently apply to your face. After about twenty minutes rinse it off with warm water. Tumeric is a great natural healer, and the clay helps absorb oils from the face.

 

Honey-yogurt face treat

Cleanse as normal, then mix some soft honey, natural yogurt s ground oats in a dish until it is like a thick paste. Use your fingers to apply it your face before massaging it gently over the skin for a couple of minutes. This combination offers gentle exfoliation, a deep cleanse and a soothing finish.

 

3 in 1 treatment

Cleanse, tone and moisturise in one treatment. Mix one teaspoon of honey and half a teaspoon of fresh lemon juice with some olive oil. Use your (clean) fingers to apply before gently massaging in circle-like motions. After a few minutes rinse off with warm water and pat dry with a clean towel.
