Thrive Patch Introduction
Thrive Patch is a unique weight loss product that’s patched on the skin. This item contains the typical weight loss ingredients you’d find in other products. The only difference between it and other traditional supplements is how these compounds are absorbed into the body. While in most oral supplements you have to rely on your digestive system to absorb the ingredients, in Thrive Patch they are absorbed directly into your system through the skin. This approach is an innovative one because it works much faster and also prevents cases from having some compounds being broken down by enzymes and the acid in the stomach before they are fully utilized. For Patch to work effectively, however, the compounds must also be absorbable through the skin otherwise using the entire thing could be pointless.
So, can your skin absorb the compounds used here to enjoy the benefits of this patch? Are the compounds beneficial in the first place? In this review, we will try to uncover everything possible about Thrive Patch to determine whether it’s worth giving a shot.
What is Thrive Patch?
Thrive patch is manufactured by multi-level marketing (MLM) company known as Le-Vel. This is the first minor red flag we came across in our research of Thrive Patch. MLM companies are always about marketing. They would do and say virtually anything to sell a product regardless of whether it’s indeed useful or not. In our past experiences, items from MLM companies usually fail to reach expectations even though they could be having decent ratings and more sales. This is all be attributed to the vigorous marketing they do.
That’s why it’s not surprising to see the sort of claims behind Thrive Patch. It is said to be the ultimate weight loss supplement that will give you the bikini body you are looking for. According to the manufacturer, Thrive Patch should be used in an 8-weeks program after which you won’t just see weight loss, but you’ll also receive a massive mental boost for overall wellness.
How does Thrive Patch work?
Le-Vel explains that Thrive Patch works through Derma Fusion Technology. This allows your body to absorb all the ingredients resulting in improved metabolism and suppressed appetite. An increase in metabolism naturally leads to more breakdown of fat consequently leading to weight loss. Appetite suppression, on the other hand, is straightforward. If the patch can reduce your cravings, it means that you’ll be consuming fewer foods and as a result, weight loss results will be achieved quickly.
Thrive Patch itself is easy to apply. All you have to do is to patch it on your skin and its “Premium grade formula” will do the rest of the work. That sounds simple until you realize that to achieve the claimed benefits, you have to use it alongside a few other products within the 8-week period.
Le-Vel asks its customers to take plant extracts, vitamins, antioxidants, minerals, probiotics, amino acids, enzymes and daily protein shakes. You can then attach the Thrive Patch and wait for results afterward. This is a bit too much to ask for in my opinion. When you look at other weight loss supplements in the market, you can achieve the same results without having to consume a lot of other compounds as is demanded by Thrive Patch. It’s therefore difficult to convince someone to take this patch and the rest of the complementing compounds over a single pill that’s within the same price range or even cheaper.
Thrive Patch Ingredients
Thrive patch is supported by six active ingredients:
ForsLean is also known as Coleus Forskohlii. It’s an ancient herb that has been used for medicinal purposes for centuries now. It has various positive effects such as reducing inflammations, pain and treating digestive disorders.
In the weight loss industry, the herb isn’t that well studied. Most of the studies done on it used oral supplementation and even then the results weren’t as conclusive as Le-Vel claims. In one trial, for instance, mildly overweight women were placed under a 250mg daily dosage of ForsLean for 12 weeks. At the end of this period, the researchers reported that there were no signs of any weight loss recorded. The positive outcome was that it slowed weight gain by a small margin thus questioning its effectiveness.
In another study, the results were promising showing that ForsLean was able to reduce body fat while boosting testosterone levels and bone mass. This was a good outcome, but it raised some eyebrows. If ForsLean can increase testosterone level then is it safe for women? Let’s also not forget that this study used oral supplementation, and hence we don’t know whether the same results can be obtained through a patch.
This is a popular compound in the weight-loss industry. It’s believed to be exceptional in suppressing appetite and burning fat due to the presence of hydroxycitric acid. In clinical trials done on rats, the compound was seen to be effective, but its impact on human studies is conflicting. Some studies show that it can boost weight loss by small percentages while others failed to record any positive outcomes.
- Green Coffee bean Extract
This extract received a significant boost for weight loss purposes in 2012 when Dr. Oz endorsed it. Green Coffee bean extract comes from unroasted coffee beans that are rich in chlorogenic acid. This acid is said to be helpful in preventing the absorption of carbohydrates after a meal. When there are little carbs being absorbed it means that less of it will be converted into fat thus reducing adipose in the body.
A few clinical trials support the use of green coffee bean extracts for weight loss but state that the results are usually mild.
- Coenzyme Q10 (CoQ10)
Coenzyme Q10 is an antioxidant that used to promote energy production in the mitochondria. CoQ10 is naturally produced in the body, and we also get it from foods such as broccoli, peanuts, chicken, and beef. Unfortunately, these meals never provide sufficient CoQ10 and our bodies naturally slow down the production of the Coenzyme when we age or suffer traumatic or heart-related conditions.
Thrive Patch, therefore, tries to supplement the compound to increase energy production. There is, however, no evidence that supplying more than the body’s demand is beneficial and there’s also no clinical trial showing how CoQ10 can promote weight loss. The only positive from its presence here is an increase in energy which you can utilize for workouts, and this is only beneficial to individuals with CoQ10 deficiency.
Cosmoperine or tetrahydropiperine is extracted from black pepper. It does not have a direct impact on weight loss, but it’s included to boost the bioavailability of the other compounds. It’s believed to be particularly useful in promoting the penetration of ForsLean through the skin.
- White willow bark
White willow bark is a strange addition to Thrive Patch. It’s a popular compound in Europe and China where it’s used to deal with inflammatory problems and as a pain-reliever. There is, no trial showing how it can improve weight loss and that’s why we just don’t understand why it was included in the formula.
Claimed benefits of Thrive Patch
According to Le-Vel, thrive patch is supposed to deliver:
- Improved mental performance
- Weight management
- Nutritional support
- Increased energy
- Reduced appetite
Thrive Patch Side Effects
From user reviews, we have noted various concerning effects of Thrive Patch. These include:
- Itchy skin
- Hot flashes
- Skin irritation
- Muscle cramping
- Stomach upset
- Irregular heart rate
- Skin discoloration
Some of these effects are due to the sticker itself and not the ingredients used.
Bottom Line on Thrive Patch
The marketing claims of Thrive Patch don’t match with the science behind the formula used. First of all, there are some ingredients that we honestly couldn’t figure out what they were doing in the formula because they do not support weight loss while another one was just not well-studied. Secondly, there isn’t any study showing us how this patch works in delivering the ingredients and hence we are not even sure if the compounds will find their way into your system. In summary, Thrive Patch is an ambiguous product with so many unanswered questions, and that’s why it may be a good idea looking for other more definite alternatives.
